They are sitting there, all the students who’s graduation is depending o none single test. One test in their four years of high school that counts the most of them all. The math and the writing. The preparation and the stress. The test that creates high pulse and blood pressure in every person involved in the school.
The days with the FCAT tests are approaching and in these days all the classes are doing preparation so the school can get their best result. All the teachers, except the mathematics classes are doing “show not tell” writing, to get the best result. Is this writing really necessary and does it help the students to improve the score on the test? Many think that this is unnecessary as this takes a lot of class time and students will lose a lot of lessons since they have to spend half the class to write an essay. Many teachers feels this as a burden.
The students who did not pass the test the previous time they took it, feels a lot of pressure since this is the test the stands between them and the graduation. Some students slide easily through the test, but other students may have problems. The school is trying as hard as possible to provide the students help and tutoring so that they can pass the test.
How can the students help themselves to increase their testing score?
